Local businesses not getting their share of £30 million Government funding

LOCAL BUSINESSES NOT GETTING THEIR SHARE OF £30 MILLION GOVERNMENT FUNDING

East Yorkshire-based 360 Chartered Accountants are urging small businesses throughout Hull and East Yorkshire to grab their share of a £30 million fund set up by the Government to help companies with much needed additional support.

At the start of this year, 360 became the region’s first ever chartered accountancy firm to be chosen to pilot the match-funding scheme.

Andy Steele, Director at 360 Chartered Accountants, said:

“The Growth Voucher scheme is all about helping SMEs in the region grow and develop and so we were delighted when 360 became the first firm of accountants in the region to be accepted as part of it. But there are still millions of pounds available and we are urging Hull and East Yorkshire businesses to claim their share. We are also encouraging the likes of marketing agencies to become authorised, so that they can help their clients tap into the funds too. “

The maximum voucher amount for each business has been set at £2,000, meaning they gain a total of £4,000 worth of expertise and advice on growth. The scheme also matches businesspeople with relevant mentors through a marketplace-style website.

Growth Vouchers can be used to part pay for consultancy fees in the following areas - expanding your workforce, IT and web, leadership and management, marketing and customer service and finance and cashflow.

360 Chartered Accountants can help local SMEs with finance and cashflow expertise. Their services include financial healthchecks, cashflow and credit management, business planning for debt finance, business planning and evaluation for equity finance and Strategic management accounting.

Andy continues by saying:

“In order to encourage more businesses to take advantage of the Growth Vouchers the Government has expanded the criteria. They must now have 249 employees or less (it was 49 or less previously), be registered in England, have turnover under £45m, not have paid for business advice in the last 3 years and must be independently owned.”
