Rapid growth demonstrates increasing affluence and desirability of Yorkshire’s house buyers
New growth statistics from one of the region’s most influential house builders reveal a growing affluence, desirability and diversity within Yorkshire’s housing market. David Wilson Homes, has announced a 40% growth in sales across its Yorkshire East division over the past three years – demonstrating a growing appetite from Yorkshire house buyers for luxury five star homes.
With the housing market the driving force behind the UK’s economic resurgence this year, the Yorkshire house builders’ statistics highlight a significant leap in demand for housing stock of all types within the region – with a notable shift to more desirable homes being purchased through a 20% growth in sales of four and five bedroomed homes in the last three years. In little over three years David Wilson Homes has planned, built and sold over 850 homes in the region, which is significantly above national sales rate and accounted for 60% of completed land transactions in the region during 2013.
Paul Newman, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes Yorkshire East, commented: “Though there are many house builders that operate within the area, few reflect the way that the region has developed and evolved in recent years in quite the same way that David Wilson Homes does. We produce high quality two, three, four and five bed homes, and it is this unique and luxury product that is proving popular amongst house buyers in the region.”
Paul continued: “The popularity of Help To Buy can lead to a false reflection of the type of in-market buyer currently purchasing in Yorkshire, however these growth statistics clearly indicate a surge towards stepping up, not just on, Yorkshire’s property ladder. Of course, much of the success is down to the resilience of the Yorkshire economy and its ability to bounce back so strongly in the last 12 months. We very much intend to continue our land acquisition in the coming years, so we’re extremely optimistic about our future in Yorkshire.”
