Durham businessman lends support to Small Business Saturday
A Durham business owner has pledged support for Small Business Saturday and is calling on fellow entrepreneurs to follow suit.
Scott Lauder owner of Ovenu Durham believes that SMEs are the lifeblood of the local, regional and national economy. He has pledged to switch his spending to small, independently-owned local retailers and businesses to mark the day.
Small Business Saturday exists to support, inspire and promote small businesses and will take place across the UK on 6th December.
Scott said: “Small Business Saturday is a fantastic initiative which highlights the work done by small businesses up and down the country. As a small business that provides a service to people in Durham, I would encourage my retail and service sector colleagues to join together to support each other.
“I personally will be shopping and sourcing services on my local High Street this particular weekend and making a conscious effort to do much more of this in the future.”
