Hundreds turn out for Network Northumberland B2B Expo

Almost 350 people last week benefitted from a day of free business networking and seminars in Alnwick thanks to the Northumberland Expo, the first regional expo dedicated purely to B2B activity.

The expo, organised by Rothbury-based design and communication agency Lazy Grace and hosted by the White Swan, drew on the knowledge of seven local business experts and 25 business exhibitors to fill an ever-increasing gap in the market for business networking in the region.

Event organiser Ian McAllister said: “Northumberland has such a lot to offer in terms of pure B2B (business-to-business)so we organised the event to showcase this both within the county and externally.

“Delegates came to visit from as far away as Hartlepool, which goes to show that what Northumberland has to offer is totally unique.”

All seven seminars that were organised for the day were close to sold out, as were both speed networking events.

Most of the delegates who took part in the speed networking had never done so before and left with a pocket full of business cards.

Melanie Thompson-Glenn, from the Rural Growth Network, was one of the many exhibitors on the day who praised the event.

“We really enjoyed the Network Northumberland Expo, it was well organised with a good range of businesses exhibiting and visiting, the seminars were interesting and a bit unusual in approach which was great.

“This event was an excellent opportunity for businesses to network in the north of the county without having to travel out of the region; there is so much opportunity in Northumberland, but it is often missed as businesses are quite hidden.”
