The Singapore-based billionaire is self-made and estimated to be worth £1.5 billion.
The board at Salford City was unable to comment but did issue the following statement, “The acquisition of Salford City Football Club (SCFC) has now been formally approved by The FA and the Northern Premier League.
“SCFC is part owned by Gary and Phil Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and Peter Lim. (The management of the club on a day-to-day basis, as announced back in March, will remain the same)”
