£14 million housing scheme for Crewe

Your Housing Group, one of the UK’s largest housing associations, will open showhome for the first time next Saturday (22 November) at The Carriages housing development on Bessemer Way off Dunwoody Lane near Crewe town centre.

Your Housing Group was established in April 2012 following the merger of two North West based housing providers. It is now one of the UK’s largest social housing providers with more than 33,000 homes across the North West, Yorkshire and the Midlands and over 1,300 employees. The head office is in Birchwood, Warrington.

Built by Countryside, in partnership with Your Housing Group and Cheshire East Council, the £14million development includes £1.5m funding from the Homes and Communities agency (HCA).

Work is due to be completed in Spring 2015.

Chair of Your Housing Group Kathy Cowell OBE DL, said: “The Carriages provides local people in Crewe with much needed affordable family accommodation.

“It is very important to Your Housing Group that our new housing developments benefit the community, and ensure that people who are already a part of that community can afford to live there.

“This scheme forms part of Your Housing Group’s extensive affordable homes programme. In total we have a development programme in excess of £150m and will deliver nearly 1,400 new homes across the region by Spring 2015.”
