Crawford Healthcare goes live to ease pressure on nurses
The UK’s fastest growing wound care company [i], Crawford Healthcare, has launched a free, online education programme, to address a growing requirement for more convenient and flexible training solutions for nurses.
Launched at the Wounds UK conference on 10th November 2014, the new ‘bitesize’ study programme will put personal development right at the fingertips of nursing professionals, with manageable modules accessible via desktop computers, and for the for the first time smartphones and tablets.
The modules have been written by highly experienced tissue viability clinicians and focus on key areas - such as wound assessment, patient assessment, dressing selection, pressure ulcer management and prevention, wound infection, debridement and legal aspects of wound care.
Each module takes just 20-30 minutes to complete and if users need to leave a session at any point, they can start where they left off when they log back in. At the end of each module, there is also an opportunity to complete a test and if the pass mark is achieved, participants will receive a certificate to add to their personal development file.
Rebecca Walton, Product Manager at Crawford Healthcare, said: “It is widely acknowledged that the training of nursing staff can bring significant benefits to both employees and employers and should result in an improved standard of care for the patient. Whilst essential, it is however proving a struggle for over-stretched nurses to fit additional training around their busy workloads.
“Crawford Healthcare has developed the online resource in a bid to ease the mounting pressure placed on today’s nursing professionals and support their ongoing development. We are excited to be leading the way with the digital drive and believe that this approach will make it more manageable for nurses to equip themselves with the skills and knowledge they require to perform their roles as effectively as possible.”
