RSM Castings invests for growth
Shell moulding process specialists RSM Castings has invested £155,000 in a new Koyama CNC grinding machine as part of ongoing growth plans.
The company, which supplies shell moulded castings to the automotive, hydraulic valve, materials handling and engineering industries, has fully automated the grinding process with the new state-of-the-art machine, guaranteeing its customers consistent product quality and protecting its operatives from tool-related conditions like hand-arm vibration syndrome.
The move will allow RSM Castings to meet and exceed health and safety legislation requirements by improving environmental conditions for staff. It will also improve production efficiencies by centralising the finishing process.
Asset finance specialist Academy Leasing used its own funds and extensive funding lines with a panel of banks and specialist finance houses to facilitate the investment.
“We produce more than two million castings every year in grey and S.G. iron,” said Barrie Jones, Chairman and Joint Managing Director at RSM Castings, “so we need the best equipment on the market to meet the exacting demands of our clients. There is no doubt that the CNC grinder will significantly boost quality standards across the board.
“Securing the funding was incredibly smooth and straightforward, without having to jump through all the usual hoops. We found Academy to be responsive, professional and more open to our business plans and aspirations than the banks.”
“We are always keen to support British manufacturing wherever we can and are confident that the investment will lay strong foundations for future growth at RSM,” said Hazel Jacques, Sales Director, Academy Leasing.
