Macclesfield’s Bodycote opens facilities in Shanghai and Turkey
Macclesfield’s Bodycote has opened two new plants in Kunshan close to Shanghai and Gebze in Turkey as part of the group’s expansion strategy within emerging markets.
They report that there will be further plans to open other facilities as they progress.
Bodycote plc is a supplier of heat treatments, metal joining, hot isostatic pressing and coatings services.
The company’s revenue for the period 1 July to 16 November 2014 was 2.9% higher at constant exchange rates however 3.9% lower at actual exchange rates than in the same period of 2013.
This is due to a slower growth within the Eurozone based business however the board’s expectations for the year remain unchanged.
They expect that general background demand will be more difficult in 2015 than 2014.
However, the strength of the group’s specialist technologies is expected to counter the effects of the soft macro-economic environment.
