Burnley Oak Furniture Land doubles in size

Oak Furniture Land in Burnley has refurbished and doubled in size.

Burnley FC player Scott Arfield, and club mascot Bertie Bee joined the Oak Furniture Land Managing Director Jason Bannister, to officially open the newly refurbished Burnley store, incorporating the brand new Sofa Store concept.

The enlarged Oak Furniture Land store has doubled in size to 17,000 sq ft and the new Sofa Store concept will occupy the whole of the mezzanine floor.

The showroom is located at Prestige Retail Park, in Burnley.

Along with 6 other stores in the north west, a distribution centre in Manchester and support for local manufacturing of sofas, Oak Furniture Land is supporting several hundred jobs in the Lancashire area.

Managing director of Oak Furniture Land Jason Bannister,says: “I’m delighted to be able to be here to launch the first of our stores to feature the Sofa Store concept in this way.

“I know the town well, and I know that it needs a sofa retailer with really great products offering the same fantastic value that we have been doing on solid hardwood furniture for the last few years.

“Many of the products we have in the store are manufactured literally 10 minutes from here, so this is a great opportunity for us to make a genuine contribution to the wider community as well.

“At Oak Furniture Land we’ve shown that great quality can be delivered at great prices and we think it should be the same for sofas.

“It’s just that bit more special to have Scott and Bertie Bee here supporting us from Burnley FC.

“I’ve been a Clarets fan since I was a kid and as a business we have got involved with the club for a number of years, so it is great to have them here.”

Burnley FC director of commercial affairs, Anthony Fairclough, says: “Oak Furniture Land is one of our official partners.

“Our corporate partners are very important to us and we are pleased to support the store opening and wish them every success for the future.”
