Liverpool Hoteliers Association donate £1000 to Hospitality Action

Liverpool Hoteliers Association has donated £1000 to Hospitality Action to help financially safeguard industry workers.

Chairman of LHA James Rush, together with the members of the association, gifted the UK charity to support its efforts in providing a crucial lifeline for employees that face difficult circumstances including redundancy, illness and bereavement.

The generous donation was presented to Hospitality Action during LHA’s monthly meeting at Trattoria 51 on Old Hall Street, which seen the arrival of many leading North West hoteliers and restaurateurs.

James said: “Having worked in the hospitality industry for almost 20 years, I have sadly occasionally witnessed workers who have found themselves in employment crisis through no fault of their own. Therefore, it gives us great pleasure to support such a worthy charity that goes above and beyond for hard working individuals.

“Following our donation and voluntary services that have directly aided workers - we would like to raise awareness of Hospitality Action and inspire other local hospitality businesses, both large and small scale, to also get involved to help protect the future of hospitality employees.“

Established in 1837, Hospitality Action has continued to offer financial support and assistance to hospitality workers in need. Last year the charity, which receives no government funding, helped 1,696 industry members who faced a range of difficult circumstances through grants and befriending schemes – allocating a total sum of £508,000.

North West Regional Co-ordinator of Hospitality Action, Dawn Holding added: “We are delighted that the Liverpool Hoteliers Association are supporting Hospitality Action and a big thanks to them for their tremendous donation of £1000 - this will go a long way to helping those in the hospitality industry that need our support.“
