Birkenhead-based MPE Interiors completes fit-out of Scottish salmon ship
Birkenhead-based contractor MPE Interiors has supplied its manufacturing and outfitting expertise to an Irish shipyard building a salmon farm vessel.
MPE manufactured furniture and fittings for the Sally Ann, a new ship built at Arklow Marine Services in County Wicklow.
The 23-metre-long inspection tender will be operated by Scottish Sea Farms.
MPE Interiors works in three main sectors: maritime, commercial property and residential property. Its maritime work includes designing, manufacturing and fitting-out ferries, ships and super-yachts.
Scottish Sea Farms is based in Argyll.
It supplies salmon to customers across the UK and continental Europe including Marks and Spencer.
MPE director Cliff Grainger said, “The Sally Ann manufacturing and fit-out contract demonstrated our quality craftsmanship, reliability and good working relationships with customers.
“MPE manufactured almost all the furniture and fittings, including the soft furnishings.
“They asked MPE to do this contract because of the high standard of our previous work.
“We were delighted to help.”
