Management chanee at leading Birmingham van centre
A Birmingham company has strengthened its management team with the appointment of a new aftersales expert.
Kevin Brown, 34, has joined Volkswagen Van Centre Birmingham as the aftersales manager, bringing with him 14 years’ automotive experience.
Having begun as an apprentice technician for IVECO, Kevin has specialised in commercial vehicles throughout his career - ten years of which have been with the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle brand with eight of those within managerial roles.
Kevin believes that specialising in commercial vehicles has given him a thorough understanding of customers’ complex business needs and he intends to use his experience to enhance the aftersales service at the St Stephens Street business.
He said: “Birmingham Van Centre is a thriving business which has a wide range of customers from fleet operators to small business owners through to retailer and campervan owners. Keeping customer vehicles on the road and reducing any downtime is not only critical for our customers’ businesses but crucial for our reputation.
“My aim is to continually review our systems and ensure we maintain a motivated team. I have worked for many motor groups over the years, but Swansway, which owns the Birmingham site, has stood out as an open-minded and approachable business with high standards. So when the job opportunity arose I was keen to accept.”
Kevin Justice, head of business at Volkswagen Van Centre Birmingham believes a business success is down to the right team. He said: “We provide a prestige range of commercial vehicles and buying a van is a big investment but if the aftersales is not up to scratch then customers will not return, which would ultimately affect our performance.
“Kevin’s in-depth understanding of the industry and skill set will be a huge asset to our team.”
