Advanced Learning shortlisted for ICT Company of the Year at prestigious BETT Awards

Advanced Learning (Advanced) has been shortlisted in the ICT Company of the Year (over £10m turnover) category in the prestigious British Educational Training and Technology (BETT) Awards. The Awards are given to companies which have demonstrated excellence and support in the provision of ICT to nurseries, schools and colleges. The winner will be announced on 21st January 2015 at The Brewery in London.

The BETT Awards are run by the British Educational Suppliers Association, the trade association for education suppliers, and take place during the leading learning technology event at London’s Excel Centre.

Advanced is one of six finalists in the running for the award, alongside Capita SIMS, Dell, Discovery Education, LearnPad and Promethean.

Advanced provides innovative technology solutions to more than 2,000 educational institutions throughout the UK and across the world. Its cloud-based management information system Progresso is used in more than 120 schools across the UK.

Steve Dashwood, Managing Director of Advanced Learning, said: “This is a strong endorsement of the valuable work Advanced does with its customers who are utilising our software to help their learners improve their outcomes.

“More and more schools, colleges and academies are seeing the benefits that our technology can bring by helping them to improve the capture and storage of data, thus enabling them to focus more time and money on their everyday teaching and learning needs.”

Dartmouth Academy, a longstanding customer of Advanced has used Progresso for several years and will host a seminar alongside Advanced Learning to discuss their experience at the BETT Show on the 21st and 22nd of January.

Advanced has a wide portfolio of learning technology solutions including resource and timetabling solution CMIS and CMISGo, which enables staff and students to publish timetable information and updates via mobile devices using web and SMS technology.

The University of Westminster is one of the newest CMISGo users. In August it used the solution to publish its timetable earlier than has ever been achieved previously to 27,000 students and more than 4,000 staff via their smartphones.

Advanced Learning forms part of Advanced Business Solutions, an Advanced Computer Software Group company. The Group recently won Tech Company of the Year in the prestigious UK Tech Awards 2014 and ranked in the Deloitte UK Technology Fast 50, which recognises the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the UK.
