90 retail jobs to be created at Darlington’s Cornmill Shopping Centre
Darlington’s Cornmill shopping centre has announced that almost 90 seasonal jobs will be created in the run up to Christmas.
Retailers in Cornmill including Primark and HMV have taken on 88 additional recruits in time for the busy festive season.
Vacancies for temporary sales assistants and stockroom staff have been filled at many of the centre’s stores, which include independent outlets and major high street stores, to cover the Christmas and January Sales period.
The centre is now fully occupied following the arrival of Calendar Club which has taken a temporary let and Fone Warehouse, meaning even more jobs have been created in time for Christmas.
Centre manager at the Cornmill Shopping Centre, Susan Young, said: “We’re delighted that almost 90 new jobs for local people will be created in centre in the run up to Christmas as retailers gear up for their busiest couple of months of the year.
“The centre’s late night Thursdays begin this week as does our community choir competition, Cornmill’s Chorus, and on Sunday our annual reindeer parade officially starts the countdown to Christmas, so we’re expecting high footfall over the coming weeks.”
