Residents at Goole’s adult autism care specialists, Goldcrest House, visited their local fire station to learn more about the emergency service’s day to day work.
Residents Phil, Chris, Mark, Mark, Kelly and carer Eileen visited the station where they were treated to a guided tour of the building and specialist equipment used when an emergency occurs.
Eileen Smale, activities co-ordinator at Goldcrest House says: “We all really enjoyed the visit and of course the opportunity to turn the blue light and siren on! We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at the station who make our visit possible .”
Based on Boothferry Road Goldcrest House is a centre of excellence dedicated to addressing the individual needs of adults over 18 affected by Autistic Spectrum Disorder and learning difficulties.
