The North East BIC becomes hot spot for over sea entrepreneurs
More opportunities have opened up for overseas entrepreneurs wishing to visit the region after the North East Business and Innovation Centre (BIC) welcomed its most recent guest from Lebanon.
Following the recent success from two Middle East entrepreneurs last month the BIC have expanded its connections, this time to Lebanon welcoming Jules Hatem. Jules is managing director of company Triple E, environmental evolution engineering. He has developed a product which provides a natural friendly solution for the management of sewage waste to promote a cleaner environment.
Overseeing the visit special projects manager, Lilla Preston tapped in to the BIC’s established relationships and arranged appointments for Jules to meet with professors from Northumbria and Newcastle Universities, Northumbria Water as well as the Environment Agency, Lilla explains: “It is fantastic to be able to welcome another overseas entrepreneur to the region, the benefits are twofold as it also helps the North East to make contacts further afield. The BIC has many years experience welcoming entrepreneurs to the region and I would like to thank everyone involved in making Jules visit so worthwhile. Our contacts have been invaluable in helping create a bespoke programme for him and I know Jules is keen to implement all the ideas he has generated during his visit.
“As a result, we will begin to work more closely with a BIC in Lebanon and explore future joint projects. The BIC is fully committed to reaching organisations all over the world to enable to offer our own clients more scope and grow their businesses.
“It has been a pleasure welcoming Jules to the UK and I hope to see him again soon.” Jules graduated as an industrialist engineer and decided to start his own business to help solve environmental problems in his country, commenting on his trip he said:
“Visiting the BIC has been very beneficial because Lebanon uses water treatment solutions which are not to European Standards. My visit was to understand UK water treatments and innovations, which has been fantastic to see and a ‘utopia’ I hope to replicate in my country.”
