‘Get Santa’ stars set to fly in to Hoar Cross to start festive celebrations
Reindeers from the ‘Get Santa’ film will be part of two weeks of festive events due to be held at an East Staffordshire nursing home.
Hoar Cross, which celebrated its 25th birthday last year, is hoping the celebrity animals will draw in the crowds on 1st December as it looks to raise hundreds of pounds to fund activities and days out in 2015.
Residents, staff and visitors will be able to meet, stroke and have their photos taken with the Blithberry reindeers and this comes just two days after its annual Christmas Fayre.
There will be homemade mince pies, a dozen art and craft stalls and delicious mulled wine, not to mention the chance to win great prizes in a special Santa-inspired raffle.
“Christmas is a very special time at Hoar Cross and this year is no different, with a mix of fun, religious and musical activities planned for everyone to enjoy,” explained Kathy Cleaver, General Manager.
“There really is something for everyone and we are especially delighted to be welcoming movie stars – in the form of reindeers - to our home next week. A lot of people are looking forward to getting a picture with them although the autograph hunting might be a bit difficult.
“This will be followed by a live performance from Tickled Pink, who will be performing Christmas songs and dances to get people in the mood for the festive season.”
She continued: “There is a serious element to the events, with all money raised going to the League of Friends who will use it to plan days out and fun activities at the home.”
Hoar Cross Nursing Home, which is rated excellent by the Care Quality Commission, is set within two acres of landscaped grounds in rural East Staffordshire.
Its team of professionals provides outstanding care for the elderly, disabled people, residents suffering from dementia and those in need of respite and palliative care.
