Vertu Motors steers growth with help from Gott

In a successful year for Vertu Motors, Garage Equipment supplier Gott Technical Services has supported the company across three of its recent projects.

Morpeth-based Gott Technical Services was commissioned to carry out works on Vertu’s Bristol Street Motors dealerships in County Durham, Newcastle and North Tyneside.

As part of the redevelopment of its Durham Ford dealership, Bristol Street Motors required a temporary workshop facility to be set up on-site while essential roof repairs and refurbishments could be carried out on the existing location.

Gott’s engineers were able to move and re-install the equipment between facilities in order to keep the dealership’s service department trading throughout the refurbishment period.

Within this project, Gott also supplied and installed a new Automated Test Lane and some additional two-post lifts.

In August, the former Audi site on Scotswood Road was transformed into a Bristol Street Motors Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Jeep dealership following Vertu’s acquisition.

Gott’s role included inspecting and certifying existing equipment, and supplying the equipment and tooling required to re-open the MOT bay and to meet the requirements of the represented vehicle manufacturers.

Similarly the Infiniti Centre Newcastle, which opened its doors on Silverlink Business Park in September, previously operated as a Honda site. It marked Vertu’s first venture with theluxury franchise and the only Infiniti Centre destination in the North East of England.

Gott Technical Services director Ian Gott said: “It has been a privilege to work with Vertu Motors on a number of its exciting projects recently, including its prestigious Infiniti Centre development.

“We were also really pleased to facilitate Ford Durham maintaining full service capacity with the use of a pop-up workshop while works were being carried out.”

Only last month, Vertu Motors was ranked fifth place in The North East Top 200 2014, which showcases the region’s leading businesses, shortly after announcing revenues of over £1 billion for the six months ending August 2014.

Group Project Manager, Vertu Motors plc, Adrian Mitchison, said: “We trusted Gott Technical Services would deliver the quality of service to get workshops at these three dealerships operational within tight deadlines, meeting our business objectives – and we weren’t disappointed.

“With Gott’s support, we have been able to offer comprehensive servicing packages across a broad range of franchised vehicles available at the dealerships and we look forward to working with them again in the near future.”
