Newcastle Dealership Donates Big For Percy Hedley Annual Fundraiser

Percy Hedley Foundation is known as a practical charity, providing much needed support and services for children and adults with complex disabilities, and their families.

The biggest fundraising event for the charity every year is their Mistletoe Ball, a glitzy event with all the money raised from ticket sales and the auction going directly to the charity to provide vital services, specialist equipment and facilities in the North East that just wouldn’t exist otherwise.

The Charity is delighted to announce that for the third consecutive year, Hodgson Car Dealership of Newcastle have generously donated a car for the auction. Steve Hodgson and his wife Lindsay (who also gives her time to the Charity’s Mistletoe Ball Committee) are huge supporters of the event.

Says Steve: “The Percy Hedley Foundation provides a fantastic range of services for children young people and adults aged from eight months to 80 years.

“They provide these services from their educations services situated on three sites in Jesmond, Forest Hall and Killingworth and through their adult day and residential services. Not only do they have the services to support, but also over 800 staff whom they employ. It’s a huge, and a much needed resource in our region.

“The Mistletoe Ball is the biggest opportunity for Percy Hedley Foundation to raise money to help support all of these services. Every pound raised goes back into the Charity and makes a huge difference to the children, young people, adults and families they support. We didn’t hesitate in making this donation of a car for the auction and are privileged to be able to contribute to such a great cause”.

The star auction lot is an All New Toyota Aygo X-Play kindly donated by Hodgson with an estimated value of £10,195.

Says Maria Hallett, Fundraiser for the Foundation: “The Mistletoe Ball is the pinnacle of our fundraising year and is always a wonderful success, but only because we receive such fantastic support from local companies and businesses that donate prizes and buy tables. The support from Hodgson Newcastle with the donation of their car for our live auction is wonderful and seriously boosts our fundraising on the night.”
