Safetyflex Barriers recognised at Great British Entrepreneur Awards

An innovative Coventry manufacturer has been recognised at a prestigious national awards.

Safetyflex Barriers - one of the UK’s leading security bollard manufacturers - overcame strong opposition to be chosen as one of the winners at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards.

Safetyflex Barriers’ managing director Rob Gerrard was presented with the Manufacturing Entrepreneur of the Year Special Merit accolade at a ceremony in London attended by more than 550 entrepreneurs and their guests.

Rob has led Safetyflex Barriers - based on Boston Place in Coventry - to invent anti-terrorist security barriers, anti-ram bollards and crash fences, which use innovative spring technology and stop vehicle-borne terrorist and criminal attacks against any key asset.

The firm’s products can be seen protecting anywhere from financial districts, data centres and cash points, to shopping centres and retail parks.

Rob said: “We’re proud of the success we’ve achieved over the last few years which has seen us take our innovative products all over the UK and export to more and more countries and we’re delighted to be recognised with this accolade.

“Our reputation has grown substantially in recent years and being recognised at a major national awards like the Great British Entrepreneur Awards can only help to strengthen Safetyflex Barriers’ name even further.”

The Great British Entrepreneur Awards were launched in 2013 and have become the recognised standard of excellence among entrepreneurs and celebrate the contribution and inspiration provided by entrepreneurial businesses.

Simon Burton, founder of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, added: “The Great British Entrepreneur Awards are about celebrating entrepreneurial spirit in Britain and the story as well as the balance sheet.

“The evening was a true celebration of Great British entrepreneurs and their achievements in creating a positive change in our UK. A huge congratulations to them all.”
