The Floow Announced as Winners of Best Telematics-Based Project
Telematics experts The Floow were recognised last night in the ‘Best Telematics-Based Project’ category at a glittering insurance awards ceremony – acknowledged for their bespoke telematics systems and analytics services.
The Floow, who work with leading insurers across the globe and recently announced a 15% equity investment from the Direct Line Group, were presented with the award at a glamorous ceremony at The Digital Insurance and Technology Awards, which took place at The Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, London.
Recognised as industry leaders, The Floow currently hold partnerships with Direct Line in the UK, and AIG in multiple geographies and are continuing to expand their business across Europe, North America and China, operating without geographical boundaries from their base in the UK.
The telematics systems produced by The Floow offer a unique approach to remotely educating drivers by measuring and providing feedback on key behavioural aspects such as mobile device distraction, speed control and aggressive acceleration and deceleration, all which have an impact on road safety.
The Floow’s unique technology also ensures all journeys are monitored through an ‘auto-start’ and ‘auto-stop’ function which is activated as soon as a user begins each drive.
This provides accurate and extensive data which can be used by insurers to reward their customers for safer driving.
Co-founders Paul Ridgway and Dr Sam Chapman attended the event along with Chief Operations Officer David James and Chief Product Officer Andy Goldby.
Speaking on behalf of the team, Sam said: “We are delighted to have been recognised by our peers in the industry for our bespoke telematics systems.
We employ industry experts in the fields of computer science, data mining, driver psychology, automotive electronics and user experience design in order to ensure that we provide the most advanced and low-cost telematics. I would like to thank the team and everyone who has contributed to our success for their continuous hard work and support.“
The Post Digital Insurance and Technology awards were judged by Tony Sault, Director of the financial services office for insurance at Ernst & Young, Martin McLachlan, Managing Director at Polaris UK, Manjit Rana, Founder of Ingenin, Jonathan Rusby, Accenture Software Insurance Lead for UK & Ireland, Adam Bellchambers, UK & Ireland’s Business Development Executive for Insurance at IBM and Justin Balcombe, Partner and Head of UK general insurance consulting at KPMG.
