A specialist arm of Esh Construction Ltd, Lumsden & Carroll delivers civil engineering projects for a range of clients including utility companies, local authorities, transport agencies, house builders, universities and private developers.

Stephen Wilkie, regional managing director at Lumsden & Carroll said: “It is a fantastic achievement to be recognised by CECA for our work in the North East. We were very pleased to win the Environment Company of the Year award, and also the Going the Extra Mile award for our Building My Skills project.”

Other companies recognised include JN Bentley Ltd which received a commendation for tackling seaside pollution, and won two awards – Health and Safety Company of the Year and Training Company of the Year. Seymour Civil Engineering in Hartlepool was commended for its cleaning of trunk water mains totaling 76km between Horsely in Northumberland and Wallsend.

Sarah Wilson, partner at Watson Burton, said: “The CECA-NE Annual Awards recognise the achievements of civil engineering companies which work to make the North East safer and healthier for residents and visitors.
