Delifonseca Dockside to become customers’ ‘secret Santa’ this festive season

Delifonseca Dockside is set to make Christmas shopping a whole lot easier this year.

Staff at the Brunswick Quay foodie haven, which has just been named ‘Independent Retailer of the Year’ by the Observer, hope to reduce the stress associated with high-street buying by offering a more personable shopping experience, as well as providing customers with suggested gift ideas for family and friends.

Those wanting a completely hassle-free experience can also take advantage of Delifonseca’s pre-order facility, whereby shoppers can select their entire festive feast in advance in store, pay a deposit and then collect their items at a time that suits them best. That includes not just the turkey and cheese board but everything down to the Brussels sprouts, fresh cranberries and parsnips, which are all bagged and ready.

Proprietor Candice Fonseca said: “Our aim is to take the franticness out of gift buying and entertaining at Christmas. To accompany our popular Christmas dinner pre-orders, we will also provide customers with a personal shopper service so that they will be able to find exactly what they’re looking for, fast and efficiently.

“Whether it’s for relatives, friends or secret Santa stocking fillers - our staff members are able to outline suitable presents that are available to purchase in store.

“Not only are the gift suggestions ideal for those who like to be super organised, last minute shoppers will also be able to buy with ease.“

According to a poll by Sainsbury’s Bank, December 23 is traditionally the busiest day for Christmas shopping, whereby a third of Britons will hit the shops. The frantic scurry of last minute panic buying often leads to gifts and essential cooking ingredients being left behind.

Candice added: “Although Christmas seems to be coming earlier each year, we continue to see so many last minute shoppers. Those with busy work schedules often find very little time for Christmas shopping, however our late opening hours allow customers to pop in after work and get everything other than their novelty Christmas jumpers boxed off!“

The last date to place a Christmas food order is Friday 19th December. A deposit is required to secure the order, once processed customers can collect their purchase when required. Deli opening hours are Monday-Saturday 8am-9pm and Sunday 9:30am-5pm.
