Leeds-based Woodleigh acquired by London health service provider in £63 million deal
London health service provider, Cambian Group plc has acquired Leeds-based Woodleigh Community Care for an enterprise value of £63 million, funded from the Group’s bank facilities.
Woodleigh operates 152 beds, across 13 residential homes and supported living units and one hospital in the Yorkshire and Humber region.
In the 12 months to September 2014, Woodleigh recorded revenue of £18.2 million, EBITDA of £6.8 million and operating profit of £5.4 million.
At 30 September 2014, the gross assets employed in Woodleigh were £13.5 million. The properties in the Woodleigh portfolio are freehold, with three further freehold sites owned for development.
Saleem Asaria, chief executive officer of Cambian, commented: “We are delighted to have acquired Woodleigh and believe that the acquisition will bring great value to Cambian.
“It enables us to enter the Yorkshire and Humber region, and importantly brings increased specialist capability to the Group which will enable us to extend the services we offer across the business.
“We are committed to being the highest quality provider of specialist behavioural and health services for children and adults and today’s transaction complements this vision”.
