New Regulatory Service for Expanding Leeds City Centre Lawyers

Ison Harrison, The Leeds Law firm, has opened a new Regulatory Department within its expanding operation. Ian Anderson joins to spearhead this new service.

Ian has experience of defending clients facing allegations of professional misconduct, fraud, corruption, false accounting and money laundering in some of the most complex regulatory and criminal investigations conducted nationwide in recent years. He has a reputation for providing practical and clear advice for those individuals and corporations being investigated or prosecuted, and appearing regularly before the Medical Practitioners Tribunal, professional disciplinary panels and the Magistrates court. Ian brings a forensic approach to his complex work and will prove a valuable addition to this expanding legal practice.

Almost all trades, professions and businesses conduct their affairs under standards of conduct which are enforced by regulators. Non-compliance with the rules can result in disciplinary proceedings, or even prosecution for individuals, members of professional bodies and businesses. In excess of 30 regulatory bodies have the power to prosecute and many more are entitled to investigate and make findings against their members, such as the Food Standards Agency, Financial Conduct Authority, the Environment Agency, the Solicitors Regulation Authority, the General Medical Council and the Health and Safety Authority.

Jonathan Wearing, Managing Partner, Ison Harrison said: “It has become increasingly clear that due to the pressure of modern life, there are a growing number of criminal and regulatory allegations, both for business and privately that need a comprehensive and robust defence. Ian is just the candidate to fulfil this role within our growing legal practice.”
