Oliver Rothschild joins Fastflow board

Leading sustainable business expert and corporate strategist, Oliver Rothschild, has been appointed a non-executive director with the rapidly expanding Fastflow Group.

The former chairman of the Sustainable Business Forum will add to the credentials of a business which specialises in providing services to utility and property owners.

Oliver said of the employment: “Fastflow has already demonstrated its commitment to sustainability and shown an uncanny ability to grow exponentially during the recession, whilst remaining true to its core value of responsibility, both to clients and the environment and that is why this position holds a particular fascination for me.”

Over the past four years the Fastflow Group has trebled turnover to over £60 million and has ambitious plans to continue to grow through organic growth and acquisition. It provides work for around 700 people.

Operating across the UK on major gas a water networks for clients such as National Grid, Anglian, Northumbrian and Scottish Water, it has deployed cutting edge technology and a water mains cleaning system which minimises environmental impact. This won the award for innovation from the UK Society of Trenchless Technology.

The recent acquisition of DW Support Services diversified operations into the property management and maintenance sector. The same rigorous service standards are applied to the maintenance of over 200,000 properties in the South of England, as well as planned repair, refurbishment and energy saving solutions for major housing associations, London councils, government agencies, universities and NHS trusts.

Neil Armstrong, Fastflow Chief Executive Officer, is a committed supporter of WaterAid, an international charity operating in some of the world’s poorest communities to provide clean water and improve sanitation. Fastflow has donated over a £250,000 towards Aid projects over the past decade.

Neil added: “We are delighted to welcome Oliver to the board. He shares our vision of a business which puts others first but is not afraid to make a profit in the process. He also brings with him an exceptional combination of business acumen and philanthropic experience and we hope to gain from both. We have been creating jobs as we grow and Oliver’s input will maximise the chances of this continuing.”

Oliver Rothschild has investments and interests worldwide and is an advisor to commercial, environmental, energy and charitable sectors. He is chairman of Oliver Rothschild Corporate Advisors and holds non-executive director positions in various companies in the UK and Europe and sits on the advisory board of the Innovation Warehouse in London’s tech city.

Oliver is ambassador for UK Trade and Investment and a senior fellow of Essex University. He is active in a wide range of NGOs and charities and president of ACEVO Solutions, the trading arm of the leading association of voluntary and charitable chief executive officers.

He is also patron of For the Love of China, Football for Peace, Flying Angels Foundation, Diversity UK, Tiny Tickers and the Anna Fiorentini Theatre and Film School.

As well as presenting for the BBC and Channel 4, he is ambassador for the International Emerging Talent Film Festival of Monaco and an international speaker on investment innovation, climate change and sustainability.
