Sheffield’s Counter Context completes Government’s GREAT Britain Formula One contract

Counter Context, a Sheffield-based communications agency, has completed work with the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign.

The year-long contract saw the firm help to co-ordinate events in four countries, coinciding with the Formula One season.

The company worked on behalf of the GREAT Britain Campaign to highlight Formula One as an example of leading innovation, entrepreneurial success and advanced manufacturing in the UK amongst key international target audiences at a series of events.

Counter Context helped to deliver a total of seven events, which took place in Canada, Hungary, Singapore and the United States.

Attendees were from the global business, and Formula One communities and experts in a range of activities, from hosting events and panel discussions to multimedia outputs.

Matthew Strachan, ‎head of Sales at Sahara Force India Formula One Team, developed a close working relationship with the Yorkshire firm over the season. He said, “We worked with Counter Context a number of times during the 2014 season – with representatives from Force India attending events and taking part as key speakers.

“We were delighted to work with Counter Context and this has led to follow up conversations on how we could work with them again next year.”

Simon Collingwood, associate director at Counter Context, said: “For an agency our size, in Sheffield, to secure such a high-profile client is testament to our growth and ambition.

“Counter Context are 20 years old this year, and the work we have completed for the GREAT Campaign is certainly one of our most significant projects to date.

“Delivering this work, along with other important client work, is a great way to end the year and, as a company, we are already looking forward greatly to 2015.”
