O for outstanding
THE team at O PR in Ouseburn, Newcastle picked up the overall gold award for ‘Outstanding Consultancy of the Year’ at Friday’s CIPR Pride Awards North East, held at The Biscuit Factory.
It was celebrations all round for the team shortlisted for seven awards on the night as they also picked up ‘Best Use of Digital’ gold award for their work on the launch of www.bimcrunch.com for architecture and design business Space Group and ‘Best Event’ gold award for the Newcastle store launch for global fashion brand Dr. Martens. A social media campaign for Northumberland #BestNland also claimed a silver award in Best Consumer Relations Campaign.
The CIPR judges said about O PR: “The ‘O’ brand and values are neatly ingrained throughout the consultancy with the Ocademy running year round for staff development, the Opprenticeship scheme offering entry into the industry for graduates, and an annual Oway Day for team bonding. O PR also demonstrated outstanding results by taking a client’s global campaign to grass roots level, making it work locally and driving footfall to break the client’s global record for a store’s launch day sales.”
Managing director at O PR, Kari Owers said: “We’re delighted to be named Outstanding Consultancy in the North East again, we’ve had a great year of growth, exciting new clients and recruitment of new faces and this is a brilliant way to enter into our 10th year in business in 2015.”
The CIPR PRide Awards is the only UK-wide awards scheme that recognises excellence in public relations and communications work across Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and six English regions. Now in its 11th year, the CIPR PRide Awards grow year-on-year as consultancies and organisations increasingly recognise the benefits of awards from the PR professions only Chartered body, and past winners continue to reap the benefits of receiving one.
