Most powerful rate shop analyzer for car rental
WeYield, French consulting firm dedicated to Yield Management for car rental, released the second version of its automatic rateshop analyzer, Rateshaker.
Originally, the idea came from the need to digest huge number of rate shops supplied by the real-time data companies such as QL2 or Rate Gain. With millions of rates to manipulate, WeYield created a web application that displays automatically the results in an easy-to-read graphical way.
With this new release, they are solving one the most painful task of competitive rate shopping of the car rental industry: the car mapping that requires also business expertise and flexibility to be adapted to the fleet constraints of each brand. With the new intelligence artificial algorithm, the car description provided by any OTA or car rental supplier is read automatically, compared to the existing coding and suggested a code. In addition, Rateshaker adapts itself to every local fleet.
Other features allow users to recompute pricing pattern for a given departure date. Combining a list of criteria, sites and suppliers Rateshaker builds a pricing curve showing how the competitors’prices have been evolving towards all the survey dates. Pretty useful for the Yield Manager to anticipate a potential price change from a competitor.
« Rateshaker now reaches 98% of automatic car mapping accuracy saving a huge amount of time to the business analyst in charge of the competitive rate shop. This time is used in a better way to focus on analysis and pricing actions for the sake of our clients’ margin.» said Emmanuel Scuto, CEO of WeYield.
