£10 million Boohoo.com warehouse construction starts in Burnley
A £10 million project has begun in Burnley for the online clothing company Boohoo.com
Burnley Council approved the plans earlier in the year allowing the company’s Heasandford Industrial Estate premises to double in size.
The project is expected to bring a further 350 jobs to the area with the total number of staff rising to 1000 before the end of 2015.
MP for Burnley,Gordon Birtwistle, said: “It’s a good thing for Burnley and a good thing for the local economy.
“This will put money in people’s pockets that they can then go and spend in the town.
“The company will become a major player in the town and is a big boost for Burnley.
“It’s a significant investment for the company and means that it is committed to creating secure jobs in the town.
“However, I have had a few complaints about the size of the building,” according to the Lancashire Telegraph.
