Leading education and skills conference returns to QEII

Big names from industry, education and government come together to discuss the UK’s growing skills gap.

STEMtech, an organisation dedicated to promoting Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths (STEM) education and careers, is bringing its annual conference back to London’s QEII Centre next year.

The STEMtech Conference brings together industry experts, educators and policy makers to debate the future of STEM & technical education and the UK skills gap. Next year’s conference focus will be: ‘The Future of STEM education – the critical challenges of closing the skills gap’. Confirmed speakers include Lego Education and Siemens. The Head Sponsor is again the examination board, OCR and Lego Education has joined as Partner.

The QEII Centre has recently undergone an ambitious programme of capital works to provide aesthetic and visual improvements whilst enhancing the facilities and overall environment.

Roopi Woodall from the QEII Conference Centre says: “We are honoured to be welcoming STEMtech back to the Centre for its annual conference in 2015 following the success of the inaugural event here in April 2014. Encouraging STEM subjects in young people is vital to supporting STEM industries and building our future economy. We are proud to be associated with an event that supports this initiative.”

Amelia Barratt-Smith, Event Manager at STEMtech says: “We chose the QEII again because of its great location and excellent branding opportunities. At this year’s conference we found the third floor to be a perfect fit for our requirements, and the efficiency of the staff made the organisation process run smoothly. We are looking forward to returning in 2015.”

The second annual STEMtech Conference & Showcase will be held on 29th April 2015, at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in London.
