Citypress PR appointed by Swinton Insurance
Swinton Insurance, the UK’s largest high street insurance broker, has appointed Manchester agency Citypress to handle its PR and support its marketing activity.
Led by director Victoria Blakeley and senior account director Mark Lester, Citypress will manage all consumer and corporate media relations for the Swinton brand and co-ordinate content for social, digital and earned media channels.
Swinton provides insurance cover to two million customers and currently has more than four million policies in force.
The company, which has its headquarters in Manchester, employs 4,000 staff across the UK through its network of high street branches and commercial centres.
Gerald McLarnon, Marketing Director at Swinton Insurance, said: “As part of our search to find a new PR partner we held discussions with several leading agencies before ultimately deciding to appoint Citypress.
“Their financial services expertise and creative ideas to enhance our current brand proposition impressed us at every stage of the tender process.”
Patrick Tooher, director and head of financial services at Citypress, said: “Swinton is a well-known insurance brand which benefits from a strong high street presence and loyal customer base.
“We look forward to bringing the benefits of our sector experience to help them build advocacy amongst the media and also with consumers looking for an insurer that understands their needs.
“Securing an integrated consumer and corporate brief for a leading financial services brand is testament to the depth of skills and experience we have in the agency.”
