Gospelware win North East’s biggest digital healthcare account
Northeast digital product company Gospelware have succeeded in securing the largest digital healthcare account win in the region.
Their new clients MoveLab are Newcastle University’s physical activity and exercise research group, who chose Gospelware to create a new digital platform aiming to reduce health risk and manage chronic disease.
Gospelware, who were highly commended at the Big Chip awards in 2013 for another digital project in the healthcare sector, succeeded against 8 other agencies invited to pitch for the account.
Working alongside MoveLab they will create a digital product suite focused around a mobile app, which will be tested in a clinical trial taking place in early 2015.
The MoveLab project will use best practice in behaviour change and physical activity to help people improve their overall health and wellbeing as a means of managing existing health conditions, and reducing the risk of developing chronic diseases such as Type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Acting as a healthcare service platform, MoveLab will provide users with one-to-one coaching sessions using a variety of mobile and digital tools.
In light of securing this contract, Gospelware have made a new hire – one of 3 new jobs created in the last 6 months.
The 43% increase in team size has lead to relocation plans to better accommodate for the rapidly growing business.
The company, that turned 4 this month, prides itself on its commitment to create sustainable digital products.
Director of MoveLab, Professor Mike Trenell, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Gospelware on the MoveLab project.
“We selected the team based on the strength of their mobile development portfolio, the creativity they bring to their projects and their knowledge of emerging technology.
“We look forward to working with Ryan, Michael and the team to bring this new digital healthcare concept to life.”
