MK PR hat trick

Sheffield agency boosted by new business wins

Award-winning agency MK PR has received the seal of approval from several regional businesses this last month following after landing several new contracts; including online-retailer Approved Food, UK Steel Enterprise and modern design store Nest.co.uk.

The agency, based in Sheffield’s Kelham Island, was appointed by Approved Food - the UK’s largest online retailer of discounted food and drink - following a successful business pitch to head up the company’s public relations campaign.

Last month also saw the leading PR firm announce they had won a contract with UK Steel Enterprise, a subsidiary of Tata Steel which provides equity and loan finance to growing businesses in traditional steel regions across the UK.

Completing the hat trick, the MK team will begin work with innovative modern design store Nest.co.uk in the New Year. As well as its established online sales channel, the designer furniture store boasts a creative showroom close to Sheffield’s Parkway and has appointed the PR agency to help raise its profile across the region.

MK PR Director, Ashlea McConnell said: “It’s been an exciting and very busy year for MK PR as we continue grow our portfolio of like-minded clients who both challenge and inspire us. We are delighted to be working with the Approved Food Group, UK Steel Enterprise and Nest.co.uk and helping to build their brand awareness moving forward.”

MK PR scooped silver award at this year’s Chartered Institute of Public Relations Yorkshire and Lincolnshire PRide Awards presented in November.

The CIPR awards recognise the best public relations campaigns, practitioners and organisations from across the region, and MK PR were honoured to receive the silver award for Low Budget Campaign, following the ‘Fast Lane, Slow Lane’ campaign at Meadowhall Shopping Centre.

Ashlea McConnell went on to comment: “The CIPR Yorkshire and Lincolnshire PRride Awards, was a great way to round off the year. A silver award in this category is great recognition of our approach to delivering innovative and inexpensive campaigns - capturing the imagination of the public and the media on a regional, national and even international level. It is testament to the hard work and creativity of our team.”

The Kelham Island based agency, owned and run by Caroline Woffenden, represents clients on a local, regional, national and international scale and has been shortlisted twice in the previous four years as regional Outstanding PR Consultancy of the Year.
