Christmas cracker boom at ICS

A Liverpool supplier has seen a boom in Christmas cracker sales, as they look set to hit sales of 40,000 by the end of this week.

The cleaning and catering supplies firm, ICS, has seen a Christmas cracker bonanza, with hotel chains and businesses in the North West stocking up.

Nelson Hotel’s Group, who run the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa in Chester among others, bought 12,825 crackers alone.

Director of ICS, Matthew Dodgson said: “Christmas is always a busy season for the firm but this year we’ve seen the catering supplies side hit with record orders, our Christmas crackers by Duni are just one of the ranges where we’ve seen a huge spike in demand.

“Over recent years we’ve been building strong relationships with some of the major hotel chains and restaurants in the UK, and this is now paying dividends with us seeing a raft of big orders on catering and cleaning product ranges. We’re all confident we can take this form into 2015 after some well deserved Christmas celebrations of our own!”

Lucy Nelson, sales and marketing director at the Nelson Hotel’s Group said: “Christmas is one of our busiest times and it’s our preferred suppliers like ICS that end up with some big festive orders on their books. Some people might think 12,000 crackers is a lot, but this year bookings for Christmas dinners and parties are extremely high across our hotel portfolio and we might potentially be having to put repeat orders on the crackers front before Christmas Day!”

ICS are based in a former tea factory in Brasenose Road, Bootle and supplies bespoke catering products to major businesses including hoteliers, as well as being one of the only independent UK providers of Christmas decorations from world-renowned Festive.
