Hoardings Donation is Write Choice for Contractor

Eric Wright Construction, a division of the Eric Wright Group, has donated 350 metres of timber hoardings to the Lancashire Wildlife Trust to assist with conservation efforts at its venues across the North West.

Earmarked for a number of different uses, including fencing, wood stores and potting tables, as well as managing public access infrastructure, the Bamber Bridge-based firm decided to recycle the materials in this manner after they were no longer required at its £8.1m project to build an engineering building at Lancaster University.

The company has also donated tools and equipment for use on habitat restoration projects throughout the North West.

Ruth Gaskell, corporate relations officer at Lancashire Wildlife Trust, said: “Working with Eric Wright has been mutually beneficial and our partnership is an example of how our two organisations are working together successfully to stand up for and protect wildlife and wild places.

“These donations are going direct to local reserves and projects and making a huge difference to the conservation work our teams are able to do.”

John Wilson, managing director of Eric Wright Construction, added: “We are delighted that our unwanted materials will assist the Lancashire Wildlife Trust with its conservation efforts.

“As a business that is 49 per cent owned by the Eric Wright Trust and an associate member of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, we are a keen supporter of charitable and community activity and are very pleased to have helped this organisation by making this donation.”
