Manchester brewer Joseph Holt hands HR brief to ClearSky Pub Solutions
Manchester brewer Joseph Holt has invited ClearSky Pub Solutions to provide human resources (HR) and employment law advice to its network of self-employed publicans.
The agreement signals a strengthening of the relationship between the two firms, which has seen ClearSky provide accounting and payroll support to Holt’s ‘retail partners’ since 2011.
ClearSky will advise Holt-linked publicans on staff disciplinary problems and dismissals, minimising their exposure to tribunal claims.
It will also assist with annual leave calculations, along with the drawing up of employment contracts, staff handbooks and HR policies.
Warrington-based ClearSky Pub Solutions currently serves more than 300 publicans and pub companies, and is targeting further growth after acquiring the accountancy arm of Bridgewood Financial Solutions earlier this year.
Operations manager at Joseph Holt, Mark Norbury, said: “ClearSky has provided our retail partners with excellent accounting and payroll services over the past three years.
“I’m confident in the company’s ability to deliver on the HR front as well.”
Managing director Derek Kelly said: “We have developed a good working relationship with Joseph Holt and its network of retail partners over the past three years, and it’s exciting to be building on that by offering HR services.
“This new arrangement shows that we are more than just a pub accountant, and are able to offer publicans support with all aspects of running their business.”
