Navigating through the new world of analytics
With the demand for real insights from data discussed at the highest levels in UK companies, analytics is being seen as the way forward. This is effectively changing the way organisations view data. Previously reporting was the primary function. Today more and more businesses are going beyond this tradition. Analytics, especially its predictive capability, is seen as the real route to add value.
Analytics - originally thought of as a back-office function or beyond the reach of some businesses - is becoming part of day-to-day operations. However, the analytics adoption needs to be carefully thought through; the wrong strategy has the potential to be even more damaging than no strategy at all.
This means putting the right processes in place around data management to ensure the data is of sufficient quality. Once that has been achieved from the raw data, analytics can be applied to extract the key insights. Those insights then lead to action in the form of better, more informed business decisions.
Selecting the right partner to work through the data to insight to action process is key to success. This applies to companies of all. To meet the requirements of small to medium organisations, SAS is moving beyond its direct approach to engage channel partners.
With so many conflicting opinions in the public domain, businesses need strong and informed partners to guide them towards the services and solutions that will help them monetise the data available to them.
SAS has invested in this approach to ensure high quality partnerships to deliver high quality analytics. We have been deliberately selective in who we’re working with so that our chosen partners are able to deliver the appropriate level of expertise together with our leading big data analytics solutions.
Guiding companies towards that analytics future is possible with the right channel partner. However, it’s a culture shift that won’t happen overnight, but with the right people in place, and the right solutions to showcase, it’s one that will transform business.
