Accrington to lose Homebase store
The home improvement store will close the shutters on its Hyndburn Road store on February 21.
Homebase is part of Home Retail Group, which also includes Argos as one of its brands.
It has over 300 stores in the UK and Ireland and employs 18,000 people.
The companies sales topped £1.5 billion in the last financial year.
A Homebase spokesman said: “Following a consultation with colleagues, Homebase can confirm that its store in Accrington will close on February 21.
“Discussions are being held with colleagues to find alternative employment in neighbouring Homebase and Argos stores.
“We remain committed to serving the local community, with customers able to visit our neighbouring Homebase store in Clitheroe,” according to the Lancashire Telegraph
