EweMove wins national newcomer estate agency award

A MAJOR national award has been won by estate agents EweMove which opened a branch in York last Spring.

The estate agency, which opened in York in February, has been awarded Silver for Best Newcomer at The Estate Agency of the Year Awards 2014 held in association with the Sunday Times and Times newspapers and sponsored by Zoopla Property Group.

EweMove, with its quirky green sheep logo, was presented with its award by Ultimo lingerie entrepreneur, Michelle Moore, at the awards ceremony compered by former GMTV presenter, Penny Smith at the Lancaster Hotel, London on December 5.

The Silver award for EweMove, which handles sales and lettings, followed its success earlier this year when it won a prize for innovation at the Lettings Agency of The Year Awards and was also shortlisted for best property management.

EweMove York branch director, Nick Neill, says: “We’re delighted to receive this award. It is a real honour for our innovative approach to estate agency to be nationally recognised.”

Branch director Samantha Haskins added “We operate a 24/7 service making sure that any viewing, enquiry, property application or purchase offer is never lost. Most people search for houses online when they’ve finished work, or at weekends when most other agents are shut. We get lots of enquiries at these times so our clients don’t miss out on opportunities.”

EweMove’s other Yorkshire branches are in Barnsley, Gainsborough, Gleadless, Otley, Barnsley, Halifax, Harrogate, Otley, Pudsey, Scunthorpe and Sheffield,

Winners at The Estate Agency of the Year Awards were selected after judging by a panel of 19 industry experts who assessed initial entry submissions before conducting an extensive review which included 150 hours of telephone interviews and mystery shopping exercises.

The judging process was overseen by the property ombudsman, Christopher Hamer, and managing director of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) Mark Hayward, was arbiter.
