Greene King ready for take-off at Leeds-Bradford
Leeds-based property company Rushbond Plc has agreed a deal with Greene King that will see the leading pub retailer and brewer build a new Farmhouse Inn restaurant and carvery at its Airport West Business Park, adjacent to Leeds-Bradford International Airport.
After successfully securing planning permission to build the 1,293 sq m restaurant, which will create 75 new full and part time jobs, Greene King has acquired the two-acre site from Rushbond and immediately started work. Once complete the new restaurant will occupy a key position overlooking the roundabout at the gateway to Leeds Bradford International Airport.
Richard Baker of Rushbond, says: “We have worked closely with Greene King on this planning application and the development will be a fantastic addition for Airport West and the companies based there, and we are delighted to compete this deal.
“There is no doubt this Farmhouse Inn will be popular with both the local community and the rising number of visitors that pass through Leeds Bradford International Airport every day.
“It will also offer the wide range of businesses based at Airport West a great place to eat and hold informal meetings, as well as attracting other potential tenants to the Business Park, making it a valuable asset to the development as a whole.”
Richard Lewis, managing director of Greene King Destination Pubs, says: “It is always exciting when we are able to announce plans for a new restaurant and this new Farmhouse Inn is no exception.
“Farmhouse Inns has earned a reputation for serving much-loved carveries, cask ales and homemade cakes. As well as creating new local jobs, the restaurant will provide customers with a greater choice of dining and we very much hope these plans will be warmly welcomed by both the community and visitors to the area.”
Other occupiers at Airport West include Nunwood Consulting, Filtronic, Firth Parish Accountants, WPL and Towergate. The development offers high quality office space in an attractive landscaped environment.
