Telecoms provider Pebbletree make their mark in 2014

Cloud-based technology company Pebbletree Ltd has certainly had a year to remember in 2014. The innovative technology company, founded in 2005, has seen profits and staff numbers grow over the past 12 months as its products continue to thrive in a maturing market.

With Pebbletree experiencing great success with its award-winning VoIP service, Soho66, the company took this opportunity to capitalise on its success by expanding on its brand portfolio in late 2013.

These brands were in the form of call forwarding and virtual receptionist service Simply66, which the company decided due its prolonged success as an optional add-on service through Soho66 could in fact be launched as its own separate brand, and contact centre management system, Quvu.

These product launches laid the foundations for Pebbletree to hit the ground running and set the tone for a very successful 2014, filled with award wins and continued growth.

The year got off to a great start, with March seeing a successful visit to the 2014 ITSPA Awards. QuVu claimed the ‘Highly Commended’ award in the Best VoIP Innovation category, while Soho66 bagged ‘Highly Commended’ in the Best ITSP (Small Enterprise) category.

Furthermore, Soho66 reached the final shortlist in the Best ITSP (Medium Enterprise) category. This recognition was certainly a sign of things to come for the year ahead for Pebbletree.

Four months later, at the Park Lane hotel in Mayfair, London, Pebbletree received further recognition for its innovative products. At the 2014 ISPA Awards Soho66 reached the final shortlist in the Best Business Customer Service category.

However, after beating competition such as Gradwell and VoiceHost, and having met stringent judging criteria and detailed technical testing of its system over a period of several months, Soho66 went one step further by bagging the industry’s most prestigious award – ‘Best VoIP’ provider 2014.

MD at Pebbletree, Janni Thornton, explains: “We went along [to the 2014 ISPA Awards] hoping that we would receive some acknowledgement for the work we do with Soho66, but we never expected to go home with the award for ‘Best VoIP’.”

“Both our customers and our team recognise how good the product is, but with some of the big names who entered the category, we just kept our fingers crossed that the judges would recognise that too.”

Taking pride of place in the trophy cabinet at Pebbletree HQ, winning ‘Best VoIP’ was the defining moment of 2014 for the team; it was a stamp of recognition from the industry for a company built on the ethos of providing the very best products and support to customers at competitive prices.

The increased brand awareness and PR benefits gained by the awards’ success was an added bonus to the feel good factor surrounding the company, who by now had already set the wheels in motion to increase its workforce and move into new, larger office space due to the continuing success of the Pebbletree brands.

Pebbletree Co-founder and Technical Director, Robert Thornton, discusses the company’s success: “It was key that we took advantage of the increased feel-good factor around Pebbletree.”

November was wrapped up with QuVu sponsoring a category at the North East Contact Centre Awards, held at Rainton Meadows Arena in Houghton-le-Spring. At the Oscars-inspired evening, Janni Thornton presented the award for Contact Centre Team of the Year, sponsored by QuVu, which was won by More Than insurance.

The lavish evening helped to get the QuVu name even further onto the map, and helped to wrap up what has been a successful year for the brand and indeed the company.

And with Pebbletree’s 10th Birthday coming up later this year, the company will be hoping for further success in next year’s award ceremonies, including defending the ’Best VoIP’ title for Soho66 at the 2015 ISPA Awards.
