Baker Tilly moves up the M&A table in Yorkshire
Industry figures published this week show that Baker Tilly ranked as the third most active financial advisor in the Yorkshire and Humber mergers and acquisitions market in 2014, up from sixth position last year.
The latest league table published by Experian MarketIQ shows that Baker Tilly’s corporate finance teams in Leeds and Hull advised on 13 completed deals in the region in 2014, more than big four rivals Deloitte and PwC.
The data shows that the volume of M&A and Equity Capital Market transactions across Yorkshire and the Humber rose by 9.7% to 419 deals in 2014, with deal values increasing 201% from £2.84bn in 2013, to £8.55bn in 2014.
The manufacturing sector accounted for more than a third of all M&A deals in the region, followed by professional, scientific and technical business transactions.
Paul Johnson, Head of Corporate Finance for Yorkshire and the North East said: ‘This is a great result for the corporate finance teams in Leeds and Hull, and we are delighted to have been able to help so many more clients get their deals across the line in 2014.’
Increasingly, Baker Tilly Corporate Finance provides specialist advice to private and public mid-market businesses. UK-wide, the team has specialist advisors across M&A and Private Equity, Capital Markets, Due Diligence, Financial Modelling and PLC Advisory, and has advised on over 1100 transactions in the last five years.
