LoveBrum Ambassador role for FiB founder Dani Saveker

Dani Saveker, the founder and CEO of Birmingham headquartered Families in Business (FiB), the membership and consultancy organisation dedicated to supporting the UK’s family run and owned businesses, has become an Ambassador of the new LoveBrum charity.

LoveBrum raises money to support Birmingham causes that deliver specific projects with charitable outcomes that in turn make Birmingham a better city.

With her professional and personal roots firmly in Birmingham, Dani Saveker has a lifelong commitment to the city, and sees her role as LoveBrum Ambassador, as a natural progression and a perfect channel for her commitment to and affection for Birmingham:

“I have lived and worked either in or around Birmingham for most of my life,” says Dani, “and I think the city has so many commercial, professional and leisure opportunities and facilities on offer.

“LoveBrum brings a fresh new perspective to fundraising in the city, with its focus firmly on supporting and encouraging charitable initiatives for the people of Birmingham, and for the benefit of the city itself.

“I feel honoured to join the growing band of the charity’s Ambassadors, and am excited to be working with the team to create an active, positive community that is 100 percent behind the great city in which we work and live, and to spread the word about the aims, activities and successes of LoveBrum.”

Dani is one of Birmingham’s best-known entrepreneurial women in business; she founded FiB in 2012 to ensure support, resources, tools and a neutral community exists for family businesses, and was formerly the fourth generation and CEO in her own family’s manufacturing business, based in Perry Barr, for seven years.

“I think we need to step up and take responsibility as a city to support those less fortunate than ourselves,” adds Dani. “Whilst FiB has its roots and heart in Birmingham, it is expanding across the UK and I hope that through FiB and our growing community and networks, I can share how fab Birmingham is. I’m a Brummie born and bred, and having spent time outside of the Midlands, I’ve realised how incredibly supportive and special our city is.

“When our family business, Savekers, was forced to close a few years ago, I was overwhelmed by the support and help of the whole Birmingham community, from professionals and countless business contacts, to friends and the media. As a LoveBrum Ambassador I now have the chance to help and support others in return.”

CEO of LoveBrum, PJ Ellis added: “Dani brings a wealth of experience, industry knowledge, and a wide network, making her a key addition to the LoveBrum family. Most importantly however, it is clear that she simply loves Brum. Every ‘start’ can be difficult, so it is important for LoveBrum to align itself with great people, organisations and supporters that will help it move forward. We are therefore very fortunate that we were able to call on someone of Dani’s caliber to join our band of Brummies. We welcome her to the fold with open arms.”

FiB delivers focused consultancy, membership, events and tools tailored to the needs of family and owner managed businesses, and its national network of advisers is a vital component of its specialist support for the UK’s family business sector.

Family businesses account for two in every three of the UK’s private enterprises, with three million family businesses in the UK employing over nine million people that contribute almost a quarter of all GDP to the UK economy and have a combined annual turnover of £1.1 trillion.
