City region company bags top award

A Sheffield based web design and development studio is celebrating the end of 2014 on a high after picking up a national award for its services to staff development.

Castus, which is renowned for delivering first class digital projects to companies across the globe has been named ‘Employer of the Year’ at the 3aaa awards recently.

3aaa is one of the leading training providers in England for Apprenticeships, specialising in technology, accounting, social media and digital media.

The digital experts were invited to the House of Lords to accept the award for its work with its first cohort of Apprentices as it looks to the future of the company.

Gary Hides, technical director for Castus said: “It’s a great honour to be recognised for the work we have done over the past 12 months. To be shortlisted from an initial 2000 employers in the 3aaa framework was amazing never mind to pick up one of seven awards available.

“We are committed to the development of our team and bringing on four apprentices makes it an exciting time for the company as we look to mould the next generation of digital specialists.”

Employer Engagement Sheffield, Caroline Walton said: “I have been working with Castus for over a year now and they have fully embraced what an Apprentice needs to succeed. The team at Castus is supportive, compassionate and understanding, they work really well with our Apprentices and the Academy ensuring amazing results. The award they have won, ‘Employer of the Year’ is 100 per cent fully deserved, well done Castus and I look forward to the exciting things that will happen in the future”.

Castus is celebrating its 10th anniversary next year and has seen a massive 60 per cent growth in staff this year to keep up with customer demand. Kayleigh Ward (19) one of the Apprentices explains the award is a great birthday present. “As Castus enters its 10th year, I feel privileged to be part of such a talented team that I can learn from and adopt skills that will build a fantastic foundation for my career in the digital industry which seems to be booming at the moment.”
