Croydon's North End to get revamp as part of £50 million programme

As part of Croydon Council’s £50 million programme, North End is to undergo a major revamp.

The project, which is lead by contractor EM Highways, will start on site on 26 January for a total of four weeks.

To minimise disruption to businesses in North End and to ensure works are carried out safely, the programme of improvements will be undertaken in stages.

Some of the works will be done at night from the hours of 10pm to midnight, and the contractor will ensure any noise is kept to a minimum.

Cabinet member for economic development Councillor Toni Letts said: “Our high streets are extremely important to the prosperity of the borough and that is why we’re improving them.

“De-cluttering, cleaning and updating North End will help boost business by making the area look and feel more attractive and a safer place to shop and visit.

“The programmed work is taking place during evenings so as not to impact on business and we are confident that any disruption will be kept to a minimum.”
