Apadmi develops Happy for Life app for Guardian Labs
Apadmi, the UK’s leading mobile app developer, has developed the ‘Happy for Life’ app for Guardian Labs, the Guardian’s in-house branded content agency.
The Happy for Life app suggests daily activities to help boost happiness levels as well as keeping track of people’s moods. All the data feeds into an anonymous live dashboard to give an overview of how the nation is feeling at any given time. This forms part of the wider Happy for Life campaign – a branded content campaign between Guardian Labs and life insurance brand Beagle Street – which is looking at what makes the nation happy.
Guardian Labs approached Apadmi to develop the app following previous work with the Guardian, including building the Android version of GuardianWitness.
Work on the ‘Happy for Life’ app included developing the visual design and user experience in partnership with the Guardian Labs team and the end result is intended to seamlessly tie into the rest of the campaign collateral.
Hannah Pym, marketing manager at Apadmi, said: “It’s fantastic to continue our great work with the Guardian – a news organisation on the cutting edge of digital innovation. We’re thrilled to have worked with the Guardian Labs team on such a positive app product, addressing an important issue that affects us all.
“At Apadmi, we believe in creating mobile experiences that are genuinely engaging, rather than just building an app for app’s sake. Our philosophy is that apps always need to be designed with the end user in mind and that guiding principle governs every project we work on.”
The Happy for Life app launch comes hot on the heels of two major award wins for Apadmi last month for its work on the GuardianWitness app, which allows users to share photos and video clips they have taken at the scene of important events or on more offbeat topics. The app was named Best B2C Mobile App at the Event Technology Awards 2014, and Best Entertainment App at the Mobile Entertainment Awards 2014.
The Happy for Life app is available to download now from the App Store and Google Play.
