McAusland Turner ready for new industry

One of the UK’s most respected and globally recognised Marine Surveyors and Consultants, McAusland Turner, is gearing up for an action packed year of welcoming new business to the Humber as it becomes the new renewable energy hub of the North.

It’s only two years now until the City of Culture comes to the city but before that countless international firms have started arriving, eager to experience a part of the UK currently seeing huge growth and opportunity.

Managing Director Albert Weatherill and his team have welcomed in 2015 with a more technology-led, energy efficient business space and are currently working towards a paperless environment. He says:

“We have been conducting business all over the world from Hull for over 125 years and it’s our knowledge of people, the area and what makes good business sense that has made us who we are today.

“With the Port of Hull now seen as a leading light by the United Kingdom Major Ports Group (UKMPG) we are confident that new businesses - particularly renewable energy companies who will need expert help and advice when, for instance, it comes to transporting wind turbine blades to off-shore sites – will recognise our expertise, let us help them make the most of the huge opportunities on the horizon while, at the same time, ensuring safe working practices at sea.

“As well as being proud of our base in Hull, we also have a huge international presence. We have permanent and extensive representation in Eastern Europe as well as the Far East and South Africa. Our workforce is very diverse and as a result, respectful of other working practices. It’s our diversity that makes us unique.”

It’s more than good business though that makes the company the institution it is today. It’s presence in the local community has earned it a reputation of trust, enterprise and loyalty. It supports local youth and adult football teams and charities and raises extraordinary amounts through fundraising while encouraging local employment.
