Customer loyalty paves the way for MAN Trucks.
One of the UK’s leading fleet management companies has kicked off 2015 with a £13 million order for fuel efficient trucks from its long term supplier, MAN Truck & Bus UK Ltd.
Axis Fleet Management Ltd, based in Oxford, will be taking delivery of 200 Euro 6 tractors complete with the brand new D26 engine over the course of this year, growing its fleet to 3,000 vehicles and trailers, of which 90 per cent are MAN vehicles.
Speaking of the deal, Axis Fleet Management’s Managing Director, David Potter, said: “We’ve ordered two types of trucks; the MAN XLX 480 HP- 44T 6x2 tractor unit and the MAN XLX 440 Efficient line 2 with top torque and predictive cruise control 6x2 tractor units.
“When we found out that MAN had released the Euro 6 model with the new D26 engine, we knew we had to have it within our fleet.
“As a national vehicle hire and leasing business, our approach to expanding our fleet depends heavily on our customers’ needs. We aim to help our customers save money by driving more efficiently, and we believe that these new vehicles will help us to do this.”
The predictive cruise control application was designed to assist drivers to pre-empt the geographical landscapes that they are driving in, enabling the engine to be more productive and fuel efficient.
David added: “Not only are we anticipating an improvement in fuel consumption, but we also have high expectations of the durability and longevity of these vehicles.
“Having worked with MAN since 2007 when we launched the company with just 50 MAN vehicles, we feel they have a clear understanding of our business needs. “Our company’s strategy is based on reliability and efficiency, and we believe that we can get the best results from our vehicles by going through MAN for service and equipment.”
Mark Price, International Key Account Manager at MAN Truck & Bus UK, said: “Axis Fleet Management recognises the benefits of coming straight to their dealer network of choice for all of its needs and we aim to provide them with top class service every step of the way.
“They are a highly valued customer and we’re delighted that they have chosen MAN over and over again.”
Axis Fleet Management leases over 3,000 vehicle assets in the UK and is benefitting from strong demand for its services, with a 30 per cent growth year on year. The business now has 30 of the top 100 logistics companies as customers including DHL and Norbert Dentressangle.
